How It Begins

Every landscape is different, so the work begins with a conversation. We'll talk about the property, what is working, what isn't, and what you hope it can become.

From there, we can decide what would be most useful- a consultation, a more detailed plan, or ongoing guidance over time. There is no requirement to begin with a large project.

You don't need to do everything all at once. Many landscapes are best understood and developed over several seasons. We can begin with the priorities that matter most now, while keeping the larger vision

Gardens With A Past - and a Future

A landscape does not need to be formally historic to have a history worth understanding. Old fruit trees, stone walls, perennial beds, family plantings, woodland edges, and working gardens all tell us something about how a place has been used and cared for.

Preservation Gardening looks at what is already there before deciding what should change. The goal is not to recreate the past, but to carry forward what is valuable while creating a landscape that works for the people who live there now.

On-site consultations are available seasonally, while planning, research and ongoing advisory work can continue throughout the year.


If you have a property outside these areas; please get in touch. Travel for larger projects and historic properties can often be arranged.
